Performing a transesophageal echocardiogrqm requires integration of knowledge of anatomy, pathology, ultrasound physics, pharmacology, the structure of the probe, and adjustement of the ultrasound machine as well as the physical skill of manipulating the probe. This course breaks down the details of the procedure into short lessons which build on each other, fostering increased confidence.

Performing a transesophageal echocardiogram requires a knowledge of anatomy, pathology, physics of ultrasound, structure of the probe, and operation of the ultrasound machine as well as the mechanical skills related to manipulating the probe. This course presents the important concepts and steps in a progressive sequence of short lessons, each of which can be completed in less than five minutes. At the end the trainee will have a detailed grasp of the procedure and alternative approaches.
